A record 385,000 people emigrated from Britain in 2006, according to the Office for National Statistics. With more and more people leaving the country to live abroad, would you consider it? Where in the world would you like to live? Share your thoughts.
After a quick flick through the comments on this messageboard, I have noticed there seems to be mainly men who wish to desert these shores and the thought occured to me the reasons why - many of the cultures of other countries would suit the male mind set anyway, such as The Taliban...............................need I say more??
No, I would not live abroad. Thanks to Tony Blair bringing in Civil Partnerships for me and my 'brothers & sisters' - I am safer staying put here thank you very much.
MIGHT AS WELL. THEY'RE ALL OVER HERE. THERE MUST BE PLENTY OF SPACE OVER THERE.

Off back to Portugal tomorrow after visiting relatives in the uk. Every time I come back here it reinforces what a great decision I made to leave 3 years ago. To those of you who are sitting on the fence about leaving - don't dither, just jump off. The uk is totally knackered, and I can't see it getting any better in my lifetime. Quite apart from the fantastic climate where I live now, my cost of living is a fraction of what it was in uk. The crime rate is very low, the family is alive and well, and I have made more friends out here in the past 3 years than I made in the previous 20 years back in uk. The lifestyle is far healthier too -partly due to the climate of course, which encourages you to get out for a stroll rather than sit watching the rain bouncing off the windows again in uk. With the crime rate so low you also feel safe wherever you wander. Life is good again - like it used to be in the uk but is no longer....
