just seen a lovely little place in France. Cheap and alot for money. HOWEVER wouldnt live there. Its France not England. Cant stand it. Very different to here and our culture etc.. didnt get the same vibe and what would i do in the middle of nowhere? No make a stand here. Best place on earth. Lets keep it that way. Trip helped me to focus on my problems and sort them out. Not run away. Its no solution.

FTG from Lincoln, I wish you all the luck in the world in your new home, although I don't think you will need it, if you are willing to graft as you have to get there you'll do OK.
I think you are wrong though about few people actually taking the step, as the headline says over a third of a million people emmigrated last year, and the trend will probably continue, people really are fed up with this country, you will be part of this years statistics as will my nephew and his family, one of my workmates and his family, it would break my heart not to see my daughter again, but I am trying my best to convince her to finish her education and get out of this Godforsaken country. I have lived my life and I don't want her to miss the opportunity that I had. Why didn't I go? my wife could not leave her family and I could not leave her.
Again all the very best to you.

Lots of people here seem to enjoy moaning about the uk, rabbiting on about how it's gone to the dogs (parroting what they've read in some moronic tabloid, no doubt) and then going on to say they have a good mind to emigrate. Few of them actually do just that, though. They talk the talk about wanting to "get out of this dump", but never go as far as to find out what their options really are. Of course it's far easier to stick with the status quo, and complain endlessly about it, than it is to go out there and actively seek out a better life elsewhere.
I'm moving to Australia next year, not because I have any problem with the uk, but because I wish to be reunited with my family. It hasn't been an easy process, and the visa fees are nothing short of crippling, so I've had to work extra hours and take on a second job in order to meet all the costs. My point is, when you're truly serious about this kind of thing, you do whatever it takes to make it happen. Nobody else is going to do it for you! We all get stuck in a rut sometimes, the difference is some of us strive to get out of it while others are content to stay there and use it as an excuse to have a whinge...

Franklin J Sneddon, Like you I have worked in many countries, and the Brits do form their own communities, but they are not like the morons who go abroad on holiday and give the world the impression that we are all morons.
I am too old now to move abroad, ( I had my chance and blew it) I have nothing to offer and thats where the problem lies with this country, all are allowed to settle here, no skills are needed, no proof that you are able to support yourself.
I will probably have this posting blocked now, but the problem lies with the numbers of muslims that are fast becoming the dominant influence in all the towns and cities, not quite yet in number but that will come.
In your experience of working abroad how many places have you seen that were being run with the foremost interests of the pomme immigrants put above everything else?, I never have and it will never happen.
The muslim population totally dominate the way things are done in this town
since the riots here it has got worse, and from what I read on these postings,it is not only Oldham that has gone in this direction.
Would I live abroad? Please , just give me the chance,.
