Now that the legal minimum age for purchasing tobacco has been raised from 16 to 18, will less young people take up smoking? Should the responsibility fall to retailers, or should it be illegal to smoke at 16? Have your say.
no matter how high you put up smoking age to,their will still be people wanting to sell tobacco to young people.
my eldest was 16 last june....smoking and buying them... then october the new law meant she cant smoke... she can vote/marry/have sex/work/pay tax... yet cant smoke.... like most things if they are going to do it...an age limit will not stop them.... drinking laws should be re-thought..
You mean just like banning handguns has stopped gun crime........
WAKE UP........
I started smoking at 13 so what use is raising the age.Has no one learnt when your young all laws are there to be broken.
Its one big joke. Why not ban the tobacco companies from making the cigerettes then there will be none to buy or ban or is that too simple?
Which leads me to conclude
They can make up their own minds and do anyway with or without Government Education (GE) on the subject.
