Should smoking at the wheel be illegal?

Should smoking at the wheel be illegal?

Eating, drinking, trying to read maps, inserting a cassette or CD, tuning a radio, arguing with passengers or other road users, playing loud music. These have all played a part in prosecutions against drivers. Now smoking is set to join the list. Should smoking and driving be banned? Is it dangerous or are we taking this all a step too far? Have your say.

Yes they should ban it. My son ran up the back of someone when he dropped his cigarette and had to rescue it before it set him on fire. Luckily nobody was hurt except his vehicle (and pride) but he'd have had it on his conscience for the rest of his life if somebody had been seriously injured just for the sake of a quick puff.

I thought smoking was banned while driving. There have been people prosecuted for eating and smoking's more dangerous, don't you think so?If you drop a cigarette while smoking you could cause an accident.

If it your own car then you should be able to smoke,if it is a company car then no. But my over all feeling is that there is more problems in this country than some one smoking, those problems should be sorted out.I am so tired of hearing why it is bad to smoke etc etc.and were to go to stop smoking, what about the drinkers that should go to AA Meetings to sort there problems out, there would be less family break ups if those people got as much help or advertising for them to go to.Smokers have been banned every where so why not move onto to something else to sort out.
