Eating, drinking, trying to read maps, inserting a cassette or CD, tuning a radio, arguing with passengers or other road users, playing loud music. These have all played a part in prosecutions against drivers. Now smoking is set to join the list. Should smoking and driving be banned? Is it dangerous or are we taking this all a step too far? Have your say.
Perhaps M from S you need to take a look at yourself if you are saying that by not smoking you will turn into an angry road rager. Smoking does not help you concentrate, that is a load of rubbish. Are you purely concentrating on the road whilst fishing around trying to find your lighter to light your fag?? I don't think so! Ban it!!!

Rubbish
Ban smoking while driving and the drivers would concentrate on their driving. No smoking No drinking No eating No use of mobile phones. Just driving. Its not rocket science !!!
natasha from stockport, in what respect do you mean?
Sari from Hampshire, What a fool, why did he not stop in a safe place then.
confused from scotland, no its only BANNED in a works vehicle, but how many delivery drivers do you see puffing away with a company branded vehicle wrapped around them.
Now I have been smoking for twenty years, it helps me consentrate, stop me smoking and I get irritateable and grumpy, this could lead to problems with making a wrong decision or induce road rage, etc etc, belevie me I have tried it, it won't work, gave up for two weeks.
it shoud be banned to save lives
