Eating, drinking, trying to read maps, inserting a cassette or CD, tuning a radio, arguing with passengers or other road users, playing loud music. These have all played a part in prosecutions against drivers. Now smoking is set to join the list. Should smoking and driving be banned? Is it dangerous or are we taking this all a step too far? Have your say.
Ban smoking while driving and the drivers would concentrate on their driving. No smoking No drinking No eating No use of mobile phones. Just driving. Its not rocket science !!!
natasha from stockport, in what respect do you mean?
Sari from Hampshire, What a fool, why did he not stop in a safe place then.
confused from scotland, no its only BANNED in a works vehicle, but how many delivery drivers do you see puffing away with a company branded vehicle wrapped around them.
Now I have been smoking for twenty years, it helps me consentrate, stop me smoking and I get irritateable and grumpy, this could lead to problems with making a wrong decision or induce road rage, etc etc, belevie me I have tried it, it won't work, gave up for two weeks.
it shoud be banned to save lives
Yes they should ban it. My son ran up the back of someone when he dropped his cigarette and had to rescue it before it set him on fire. Luckily nobody was hurt except his vehicle (and pride) but he'd have had it on his conscience for the rest of his life if somebody had been seriously injured just for the sake of a quick puff.
I thought smoking was banned while driving. There have been people prosecuted for eating and smoking's more dangerous, don't you think so?If you drop a cigarette while smoking you could cause an accident.
