The National Health Service was founded in 1948 as the world’s first completely free health system as part of a drive to provide free benefits to all those in need. 60 years later, is the NHS living up to its original premise of being a world-leader in health care? Or is it failing British taxpayers with MRSA and poor cancer survival rates? Share your thoughts.

My local hospital A & E department is a disgrace, it is grubby and uncomfortable plus waiting times are routinely over 4 hours for people who need the service yet agressive drug addicts appear able to walk in and demand instant attention when they want new needles. Perhaps the decent people who wait patiently need to change their approach and become a nuisance too. I was informed recently that my Mum had to wait over four hours because so many staff were on holiday and the temporary staff did not know what they were doing, I find that excuse totally unacceptable! The management should have made adequate provision for holiday cover by professional staff.
Nothing much wrong with the NHS, except it`s top heavy with bloodsuckers and is swamped with immigrants bleeding it dry without so much paying a penny into it. The mainline workers do a great job under difficult circumstances.
We are lucky to have a NHS! Stop your complaining mortals!
the NHS is the envy of the rest of the world but over here all we get is whingers and political activists spewing out their drival to score some misguided point
