   Consider this for a moment;
   A child goes missing from a fishing village the first instinct is to rally a search party of volunteers and police to search the surrounding areas and do a door to door search.
   In reality they have been bundled on to fishing boat sailed across the water to another fishing town some where on the continent. Then they are driven 200 miles to somewhere else and then taken to a village where there isn’t such a big media presence.
   If the system we have in England doesn’t immediately communicate this to the rest of Europe then the system fails, if our system doesn’t communicate with our neighbours then it fails.
   Our system seems to be made up of police volunteers and port controllers/airport police ECT ECT.
   Our system fails unless the child stays in England and even then the only interaction with the public is through the British media.
   
   Surely the proposed amber style alert system would be a fantastic idea as it would immediately communicate with the rest of Europe through every available source and I doing so make every body into a perspective detective

   I am shocked to say the least. How can anyone be "pleased" to support a convicted child abuser/killer?? Supporting the McCann's in ther plight to find their missing daughter is one thing but to be "pleased" to support a convicted child abuser/killer like like Leonor Cipriano just because the abuser/killer is a parent is quite another. Children deserve protection from abusive parents as I am sure you will agree.

   It doesn't personally affect me either way. But what makes you think that a bunch of second rate politicians know better than the lead ACPO senior police for missing persons who has rejected the amber alert system. Politicians of their ilk also voted for the Iraq war and got that wrong too.
   
   I still think this forms part of a PR campaign that has even sucked you in. After all, why employ a PR guru if not to improve your image??
