Senior clergy at Southwark Cathedral in London say that the hymn Jerusalem is "not to the glory of God" and have banned its use from most services. What do you think of this action?

Senior Clergy eh? they should spend more of their valuable time in dealing with child abusing priests instead of spurting out such garbage
I am now 53 years old and I left school in 1970. In my school years we had an assembly every day and sang at least one hymn. Nowdays they only have one a week. My son is seventeen and has stopped on at school and when I asked him to tell me the names of a few hymns he could not do it. Very soon, in the generations to come, the people who go to church for one reason or another will not know the hymns. Jerusalem was not adopted as a hymn until after William Blake had died. This man hated the church and what it stood for and he will be jumping for joy in heaven now that the church has banned Jerusalem. It has though, become a national symbol that we now sing with pride. It should not be banned.
Who are they trying to please?
The clergy especially senior ones lost touch with the real world people a long time ago and this kind of P athetic C hicanary just re-inforces this, as W from Rossendale said get a grip on reality before you bring the Christian faith into disrepute and degrade it even further.
PC gone bonkers. We will soon not be able to speak English in our own country. Get a grip before its too late.

Should Jerusalem be banned in church services?
