Senior clergy at Southwark Cathedral in London say that the hymn Jerusalem is "not to the glory of God" and have banned its use from most services. What do you think of this action?

How dare the PC brigade/ loonys/ wierdo's/ bugger better do mob ban such an emotionally evoking English Hymm. Some people will know the story behind it. I'm not a church goer myself but everytime i hear it played or sung i admit i get quite emotional (hairs on the back of my neck stand up and not forgetting a lump in the back of my throat). I would like it to become our National Anthem, i'm not saying we should get rid of our current one because that also gets the same response as when hear i Jerusalem. If i may ask the PC mob PLEASE LEAVE WELL ALonE WHAT YOU MAY OR MAY NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS TO BE ENGLISH.
If this totally potty PC ban goes ahead you might just as well ban God save the Queen and take away our history, heritage and hope! Typical of our trendy potty do-gooders bowing to foreign influences
In my humble opinion Jerusalem is a beautifully written piece of music so why should it not be sung in worship ? Who in their almighty wisdom decides what is a hymn and what is not ?
I work in Southwark - so I am not surprised at the ban! I see the posters for the "events" held at the church and the local press articles by the clergy - strange in the least!
My local C of E church only had 35 people for Christmas Midnight Mass - even the local RC beat them hands down! Wow!!
My wifes C of E church (not the local one) has full pews at every service - why the difference! Its all down to the clergy!
If I recall the C of E church decided to go down the route of Mamon a few years ago, and lost vast sums of money in property! Shows that out-and-out greed is not limited to the City - and I thought greed was a sin! Never mind - being politically correct and socialist is not a sin - is it?
This has to be a product of some Clinical Psychologist again... They really are STUPID with their PC ideas. Just leave things be will you..

Should Jerusalem be banned in church services?
