Southwark Cathedral ban Jerusalem hymn

Senior clergy at Southwark Cathedral in London say that the hymn Jerusalem is "not to the glory of God" and have banned its use from most services. What do you think of this action?

When the church has got nothing better to do that debate 'issues' such as this, then it really is time it gave up.
No wonder most people view religion as a waste of time and one big falsehood.
If you want to pray, then pray. You don't need to talk to the almighty via a man in a frock.

Blake was a maverick, a mystic - and pretty critical of the established church. However, in this song, he is arguing for a revival of true spirituality, or at least the quest for the above. The words are not patriotic, although seen by many as such.

I'm surprised at people these days.
This hymn is definitely to the glory of god. If you care to study the words then you will realise that it praises Jerusalem, a creation of God and opposes the mills, the creation of Satan!
I wouldn't put all of my eggs in the excuse basket of Southwalk Cathedral. I have a strong feeling that this is BNP orientated.
I've answered No to the poll because it's a beautiful hymn and must rouse a congregation to the max. Surely this kind of feeling should not be removed from a now oppressed religion.
