A new museum in Kentucky is rewriting the science books and instead preaching evangelical America's creationism theories (the belief that God created the earth and all life) through exhibits that include dinosaurs on Noah's Ark. Scientists say the museum is spreading lies, but polls suggest half of all Americans don't believe in evolution. Is it possible to believe in God and still accept evolutionary theory?
The 19th century literalist interpretation of the bible, formed in hysterical reaction to the discovery of evolution, has shallow roots and lacks support from reality or theology. It drives those infected with it to develop an ingrained fear and hatred of the truth in order to preserve their own ignorance. They will not be corrected.
.
Proverbs 10:17 He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.
.
Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
.
Proverbs 13:18 Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored.
.
Proverbs 15:32 He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
.
Why not take *these* verses literally for a change, dot???
common sense..? prevailing..? woot!

the word "creationist" is not in the bible because it simply did not exist before the 1920's.. and there's a reason for that.. St Paul rejected the notion of a literal interpretation of the bible stating that it was allegorical, Philo rejected the notion that the bible is a literal interpretation by also stating that the story of creation and genesis to be allegorical, Jewish writers such as Abraham ibn Ezra rejected the literal interpretation of Genesis stating that it was allegorical, Moses Maimonides rejected a literal interpretation of the bible citing that the story of Genesis was allegorical, Origen Adamantius rejected the literal interpretation of the bible stating that the story of creation was simply allegorical, Saint Basil rejected a literal interpretation of the bible citing that the story of creation was allegorical, Augustine of Hippo rejected the notion that the story of Genesis was literal stating that it was simply metaphor and in the thirteenth century Thomas Aquinas, like Augustine, asserted that the story of Genesis was nothing more than allegorical metaphor..
~
not to mention the early Christian Church Fathers also read the creation history as an allegory and I'm sure will be rolling in their graves at the thought of being labelled creationists..
~
but according to ./gary/slime/yawn they are all wrong..! to be frank it is rather desperate on your part to try and assert credence onto a silly notion that has never been ratified or accepted by 'those at the top' of Christian denominations that gives the whole thing away..
~
but you already knew that didn't you ./gary/slime/yawn..?

The word creationist is not in the bible, but the creation of earth, mankind by God is upheld by Christians and in direct relation to their awareness of biblical teachings on the subject. The scripture from isaiah was forthright and to the point, but there are many to this effect; Direct creation features in varying degrees but consistently with all doctrine , types, precepts, promises, exhortations, histories and symbolisms associated with Christ. If any holding fast to biblical teachings are labeled creationists, it does not make them any less Christian, but more so,as evolution esp of man runs contrary to the bible as a whole-scriptural evidence must be considered, gtg to work, God bless.
He wouldn't be the first one in history, ? from ?, to claim to speak on behalf of God or Christ. No shortage of that type unfortunately.
