Council taxes look set to rise for the next 25 years, and public services could be cut as a result of local councils investing public money in Icelandic banks. Should taxpayers have to pay for public officials’ poor investment choices? Share your thoughts.

My Council can give everything to EEC Migrants,but cannot even salt the paths of Elderly People living in Care.So much for WASTER-GORDon -BROWN's BRITAIN....HE MUST...GO..AND TAKE HIS USELESS...GOVERNMENT..WITH HIM..PATHETIC!!!

I agree with Steve from Sunderland.We are bailing out everyone that is in a mess.We suffered under the Tories & I would not like to see anyone suffer the way we did however we are now in the situation where we need to save to retire & am seriously thinking of getting away from this country

No, but where is the money coming from otherwise, via borrowing? a typical socialist labour disease, and then where is the money coming from to repay the borrowing.? From the taxpayer of course. We already pay for everything else, including the pensions of those who opress us in the local town halls. Goodbye labour
