David Cameron claimed in his Party Conference speech that he has "courage, leadership and a strongly Conservative vision for Britain" and rejected Brown’s appeal to the importance of experience, insisting that character and judgement matter more.
Do you believe that Cameron has what it takes to steer Britain through financial turmoil, or does Brown’s past make him better qualified? Is it about personality or experience?Beats the sport though
Someone's been reading - and believing - the drivel written in the Daily Wail. oh, dear ...
Brown and co are leading us into Bankruptcy, he is not saivior of WORLD our children's children will be paying off this Governments debts and he thinks we are all stupid.
This Government now PAY foreign criminals £168 for being released from prision early, thats more than my gran gets on her pension, something wrong here do you not think.... EU agreements that BROWN signed states we can not deport them back to their OWN country...either if fear they may get killed..
What so we pay this lot for coming over here co mitting a crime and thrown out of jail early. COME on PEOPLE THIS LOT ARE USELESS...
Come off it, Simon! The real damage to the country happened in the 1980s. Every government since, Tory or Labour, has gone along with the idea that more of the same stupidity would put things right. The reason for this is the death of any real politics in this country: ie the idea that keeping the overpaid numpties of 'middle England' happy is all that matters. That's why no government did anything to restrict borrowing. The country's strategic interests have been sacrificed by a witless political class who believe that a successful economy can be built on retailing and construction, neither of which necessarily create any wealth, and certainly don't create much in the way of exports. What this country needed in 1997 was a national audit to reveal the extent of the damage, an austerity programme, and a focus on promoting export industries. Brown and Blair's political cowardice has left this country floundering and wasted 11 years when some progress could have been made. It also turned out that the City of London wasn't going to be the saviour of the otherwise apparently doomed economy! What a surprise to anyone who swallowed all the rubbish we have been fed since 1979!
Martin,
Hello,-Osborne-yes I agree, but the only reason Labour has not completely bankrupted this country before is that they have not held power long enough-this time they have done it, and my children will pay for it for decades. When we are all reduced to Soviet style existences,-will you still be supporting them-perhaps, if they haven't locked you and me up for some non party transgression!
