David Cameron claimed in his Party Conference speech that he has "courage, leadership and a strongly Conservative vision for Britain" and rejected Brown’s appeal to the importance of experience, insisting that character and judgement matter more.
Do you believe that Cameron has what it takes to steer Britain through financial turmoil, or does Brown’s past make him better qualified? Is it about personality or experience?oh dear oh dear, The arch harridan Jaquie Smith is "disappointed" that the EU court of human rights has ordered the uk to get rid of all DNA held by plod, of people not convicted of anything. I bet she is!! Plod is squealing too, Although I am definately not a fan of the EU, just for a change, they have impressed me. Jaqui says that she is going to `study` the findings. (kremlin-speak for trying to wriggle out of it)
Grubber isn't it ridiculous to keep ranting about the miners, particularly as the ranter lost nothing by being on strike. It was the poor souls underground who suffered and where is Scargill and all the other union men I might ask. Scargill is sitting pretty in a mansion,at least the miners are no longer working in the bowels of the earth risking life and limb, blindness and lung disease.
Hi Grubber, yes it was gripping t.v. today, can't believe that the speaker is still sqatting on the woolsack,is there no honour any more.
Hi Billy: Cannot agree with you more about the ranting on about the miners plight from irish Mick. I have never heard a word of sympathy from him for the thousands of people who lost there jobs and houses due to the `working to rule` which led to the three day week, because they could not get an exorbitant pay rise from the Heath government. Of course, it was these same miners, to-gether with other public sector worers who brought down the Wilon/Callaghan government with wage demands of a 30% increase.
Laugh of the day. Watched the debate on the Queens (Browns/Mandlesons) speach this afternoon. The Labour spokesman said that this tawdry lot had put over 3,600 new laws on the statute books. He listed out some which were quite hilarious. My favourite was. `It is illegal to let off a Nuclear Device`. I am sure that letting off a Nuclear Device would certainly kill someone, so I am sure that the offence of Murder would cover every eventuallity. .
At last we have a new poster on the board, first time vote has changed for weeks,Hallo John from Swindon, totally echo your sentiments
