Numerous cabinet members, including Home Secretary Jaqui Smith have admitted to smoking cannabis in their youth. With the number of cabinet members that have confessed to trying the drug now standing, or perhaps slouching, at 10, is it something that even deserves more than a passing comment? Do you think this makes politicians able to better understand pressures of youth? Or do you believe it's totally unacceptable that former drug users are now running the country?
Of course it matters. In the same way that it would matter if they had been convicted of drink driving or fraud. It shows lack of judgement and poor self-control, not what I want from the people ruling my country. They should all resign or be sacked. And to the usual crowd - no I haven't tried it - it's illegal and it's dangerous and I have the self-control not to give in to peer pressure.

It is their ability to do their jobs correctly thats important, not what they have either done in the past or what they do in their private lives!!
