New research suggests that passive smoking makes children more vulnerable to serious infections that lead to diseases such as meningitis. There is also evidence that nine out of 10 cases of cot death could be linked to mothers who smoked during pregnancy. So is it time to ban smoking in the home for the sake of our children's health?

Cough, if you live alone, and they DO ban smoking (which they won't) why should they have to stop something they do just because those who like to play judge and jury think it is best.
i agree with Elizabeth, if you have children then it is common sense not to smoke around them, but other than that smokers, smoke away.
You can't stop people from doing what they want to in the home they live in.
If they have kids, then they should not smoke in the home, but other than that, you can do what you want within your own home.
what are they going to try and ban next? drinking coffee? having sex? picking your nose?
leave people alone, it has nothing to do with anyone else what people get up to behind closed dooors.
i like a person to tell me to stop smoking in my home (i have no kids, and i own my own home), you can't it is not down to you.
