Should the age of criminal responsibility be raised?

Should the age of criminal responsibility be raised?

Under-14s should not be held responsible for their actions and should never be locked up in children’s homes or young offender institutions, according to The Prison Reform Trust. Their report calls for the criminal responsibility age to be raised from 10 to 14, claiming incarceration doesn't deter under-14s, since 75% of them reoffend within a year of release. Do you agree?

Know what, most of you. You are nasty, vicious, violent child haters. Please go somewhere where you can batter and insult each other and leave us nice people who believe there is good in most people to bring our children up with love and respect and if one goes off the rails, let us try to sort them out. Sorry, if your way worked, violence and disrespect, why after hundreds of years of trying do we still have crime.

I think someone has thought holly smit this locking up young scum bags lark is costing us a few quid more than we imagined . So with that they call the rent a softy crew in they come up with some cock and bull report telling us it don't work . Then we roll out the all new cheapo system . We will all be winners ha ha the kids are shown yet again that there is no law in this country and the people on the streets of the uk left to deal with these mini gangsters of the street sweet for us all . Then the government can spend the taxpayers money they saved on going to war with some middle eastern country . How about this solution we send young offenders to Iraq and afghanistan instead of good young men and they pay for there sins the hard way . What do you think

I think that its not just about how effective the current age of responsibility is in terms of whether incarceration works for kids or not.
The highest priority should be putting these kids somewhere well away from decent people.

no it should not , parents should be held accountable for their childrens actions, shoot all the do gooders that have virtually destroyed any sense of values that were held in this country ! and bring back the real old fashioned borstals that were around when i was growing up they were run like army camps and really instilled disipline, never mind giving these nasty spoiled brats telly's and holidays ! a bloody good hammering would do a lot of them good ! give the police the power to dish out the sort of instant justice as we got if we did wrong as children , beleive me once you got a good clout off a cop who would march you home to face another one from your parents you would rarely go back for seconds !
