Conservative MP Edward Leigh has claimed that drunken yobs are acting like “an occupying army” in town centres after dark, and that persistent young offenders view Asbos as a way of life. Do you feel safe to walk the streets at night? Are the government doing enough to tackle drunken thuggish behaviour, or is the problem getting worse?
our streets are not safe and never will be until our police are allowed to do their jobs properly. Our police have their hands tied by rules and red tape, long hours doing paperwork. We should take a leaf out of the Spanish cops book (Costa Del street crime), Spanish cops are not scared of the PC brigade, these cops go straight in batons flying, give people clip around ear hole or kick up the rear, for minor offences, instead of issuing tickets. In fights they whack the individuals across the calf muscle effectively giving them a dead leg, if someone touches a cop doing his job, he will not hesitate and slap the person around the back of the head, richly deserved as well. compared to Costa cops, our cops are pussies. Time the British police and courts started getting tough on crime. If the police started acting like the Costa cops are streets would be taken back, and Yobs would not dare start anything. If British police are to scared to do anything, then I say recruit the Spanish cops, and turn them loose on our streets.
my son is not a yob, and the ones that are prevent him being a teenager
cant go out at night they rule the streets ....
Look what happened to the two policemen who stopped a young girl and asked her to pick up the litter that she had thrown down in the street. A mob of thirty decended on them and gave them a kicking. This graphically illustrates how bad law and order has become in this country and explains quite simply why the public are now turning a blind eye to what is going on in the street. It is a wonder that the two policemen were not arrested for attacking the public and charged with assault which is what seems to happen when Joe Public try to defend themselves. Perhaps if more MP's were the victims of crime we then might have a chance of getting some sense back.
Yobs brandishing knives and threatening others should be shot. They should be treated the same way as if they were threatening with guns. Its no different.
