Apparently, 42% of us are too scared to leave our homes at night due to fear of yobs. A third of people have also called the police to tackle problems with local troublemakers. And 65% think that under-16s shouldn't be allowed out at night.
Are you scared to leave your home? What measures do you think should be taken to resolve this? Should we tackle the parents? Should kids have curfews?
To Liverpoolmum...Just be glad they never 'bought' their house or you'd never be rid of them! With enough campaigning, the council may eventually listen? You can but hope!We have a similar problem where council properties were bought up,but are now rented out to ex prison types and care in the community people.A lot of us work hard.I wear combats to work, walked past a guy cutting his grass on another estate one day when he says to his wife,"She looks unsavoury!".I put my head down 'n walked past.I got home, and there they were, lying on the grass verge, swigging from wine bottles in the sun, getting a tan.I work in a dirty factory and wear combats as they're cheap, these 'people' walk arouind in designer clothes, not working and drinking and taking drugs around the clock and get thought better of.I don't understand society these days?I for one don't venture out after dark, not for being scared, but I might lose my composure one night and tell them all to 'F**K off and gets JOBS!'
I live in a nice area, but there is one family living here that have been terrorising people for the last 6 years. only a handful of the rest of us stand up to them and its gone as far as possible eviction for the famliy in the new year (fingers crossed!|) They are council tenants and most of us have bought and done our homes up, work hard and have respect for the area and people in it. No point, anyone wanting to sell around here cant, as the eyesore of the house with the horror family in is enough to let people know what kind of people they are. No-one would willingly live near them. The people they bring around hang around at nights, they even have small children with them out till all hours. They are into drugs, always stoned or drunk, abusive to anyone who looks in their direction, they are responsible for the damage to cars and property in this area and I personally think the are responsible for a spate of burglaries too. And its taken the council 6 years of complaints to start do something about them... Members of the family have ASBOS(big deal...) and the mother has a CRASBO! (criminal Asbo) And this is a famliy evicted from 6 previous addresses! with a history like theirs I think the council had no right to give them a tenancy in the first place.
well said jack from wigan. she shouldn't have rights to a house. we live in privately rented property and i know if we allowed that to go on then my neighbours would certainly complain to our estate agents and we'd have letters threatening to kick us out. some people just don't have any respect for others anymore.
my mum told me today that 3 people have been attacked in the town they live in,all in three weeks.one guy was beaten up by two teens for his wallet, another had a knife held to their throat. the police say they are looking into it. its not good enough. a meeting has been called in january about this situation. its absolutely disgusting.
my estate is pretty bad for anti social behavior, regardless of what some of my neibours say.
there is two houses in particular that are the problem as the gobs****s who live there let everybody and their dogs in,the funny thing about it is one of the houses gets smashed up on a regular basis by the gangs that are going in it,the girl who lives there then has the cheek to complain about it to anybody who will listen saying that shes fed up with it.
helloooooooooooo, the stupid b***h keeps letting the lads back in the house the night after night and it happens all over again, the council are aware of it(they should be,the police are there 5 nights a week)and guess what, there doing sod all about it because the girls on benefits so gets all her rent paid and council tax paid,(they certainly cant evict her for rent arrears)this is a regular event and i suppose its the same up and down the country.
the house next door has had 8 tenants in 12 months, your not telling me the council dont know whats going on,bull***t.
people like this dont deserve a house and i couldn"t care less if shes got kids or not,if it was up to me i would have thrown her out on the streets a long time ago, kids n all.
just another chavvy slapper with a bad attitude.
its not just leaving the house that scares me. i saw a news report today about two lads here in cardiff that held a knife up to a 4 week old babies throat. they broke in and threatened the mother and baby. its sickening that this stuff is going on. the lads were between 12 and 14.
why??????
