Should pupils have to stay in school until 17?

Students starting secondary school this week will be legally obliged to attend until they are 17, under new legislation.

    No they should not, maybe if the teachers did there job a huge percentage of kids would'nt come out of school thick these teachers are only in it for the money and the holidays and think they are superior to everyone else

    should be allowed to leave if they find a job after 16.All that is happening is moving the goalposts because of the lack of jobs.

    if the government can afford to educate them for an extra year, they should be able to afford to provide proper practical work experience and apprentices . Because those who leave school earlier are usually not accademic and need more help getting started in more practical work.
