Council tenants who keep up five years of 'good behaviour' should be rewarded with £50,000 to go towards buying their first home, according to a new Tory proposal.
Do you think this would be an effective incentive to keep anti-social behaviour down? Or do you think it would be too much carrot and not enough stick? Have your say.
me from home excellent comment
Georgiepie, housing repairs don't come for free many tenants in this area especially working tenants have done their own repairs to poor properties so go and figure you fricking idiot.
georgiepie says council tentants get everything for free well my husband and i both work to pay our rent we cant afford to buy or rent privately why shouldnt people who buy pay for their own repairs for their own home i will be paying rent for the rest of my life without getting closer to owning my property i think i am paying enough for repairs when they eventually get done
Is it cumulative, and backdatable, i'm a millionaire
reward them by moving the bad tennants out and don't give them nice new places put them in the worst houses available they don't look after them anyway, stick them all in the same place too maybe they would be able to live in those empty houses up north where there's no jobs most of these people don't seem to work anyway and it might create a need for business in these poor areas, at least they would be playing loud music and leaving old furniture/litter out for descent people to worry over.

Should well-behaved council tenants be rewarded with £50k?
