Boris: daft as a brush or sly old fox?

On 2nd May 2008, 1,168,738 Londoners voted Boris Johnson Mayor of London. Beneath the bumbling public schoolboy caricature, is Boris really a shrewd and calculating political genius, or is he simply a buffoon? Peruse some of his most bizarre quotes and decide for yourself...

Don't sit there crying in your beer. It's all your own fault. You should have voted for ME - I would have been the best no-nonsense, , get-up-and-go candidate the uk never had....and you all stayed away in your millions and decided to vote for someone else instead. You had the chance and blew it.

Couldn't agree with Paul more. I am gobsmacked that people can't see through this Tory party shimsham. Things will indeed be a lot worse if those idiots get in. People complained about Blair being smarmy and grinning a lot. What about Cameron? He's even worse. Every single thing that this government does is criticised in the press now & Cameron jumps straight on the back of the "criticism cart" in PMs question time and the like. YET he does not come up with any viable answers to the problems that face this country. Why not? Because they haven't got any. If they get in are they going to miracuously reduce taxes?? I think not. You will see all public services suffer, especially healthcare. I hope you can all afford BUPA! Don't forget the Tories stuffed up the railways by their own admittance, and frankly there is little Labour can do about it now that Money grabbing bus companies have got their claws stuck in running OUR railways for their own profits.
This government gets blamed for everything now, yet most of the time it is our own selfishness that is causing the problems around us.

paul.....blah blah,,waffle waffle...tory tory......all you do is moan about the tories...not forgetting..or maybe you are...all the damage these bunch of complete assholes have caused....ask a labourite why he votes labour...most wil say..co my father and his fathers father always did..no mind of their own.....the only people who can now afford to live in the uk are the people who these imbaciles pay for with our hard earned money....tax tax tax.........and as for scargill, he was the biggest cause of upset to the miners than anyone.....and he came away unscathed and very rich...unlike the poor men he duped with his left wing b/s...and thats coming from an ex miner i knew who had his life wrecked !!
what would make me cringe and puke...and god help us..is if these bunch of greedy tax gobbling gimps get back in..

    Paul from uk..
I see that you are a staunch Labour supporter even after all the crap that this government has thrown at us..I remember the days of Ha rod Wilson.when the unions were running the country and the pound was devalued..it needed a strong Prime Minister like Margaret Thatcher. to break the union hold on this country
I take it you are in favour of the building of three million houses because of immigration's our green belt.I take it you are in favour of immigrants taking the British jobs for British workers that Moron Gordon Brown was spouting about..I could go on but this government just annoys me so much

What a laugh reading these postings----'who would vote the tories in?' they've been in since 1997. As for Boris buffoon--he'll do as he is told by tory central office. He really is just a figurehead, NO onE would let him control anything, let alone a mega million pound buget for the worlds greatest city. As for 'all change' ---not really---Nothing ACTUALLY changes, just piddling around the edges---OH--correction!--The rich get richer! no matter WHO gets in.
