Forty years after Mary Whitehouse launched her campaign to "clean up" the BBC, do you think much has changed? Are sex and violence on TV and in films and video games having a negative impact on life in Britain? Or do you think that blaming the media for society's ills misses the point?

Scenes containing sex and violence are often intrinsic to the story line or plot. Be thankful that tv manufacturers build in an off button, if you are offended switch it off, don't watch it just so you have something to complain about, I think they call it freedom of choice, everyone has it
Sex and violence on the telly has led us to where are today as have porno mags and liberated freedom. But it is the mindless morons who think what they see is the norm. By the way there are an awful lot of mindless morons out there.
Sex and violence should not be classed as the same thing. Sex on TV is fine. Its the casual violence I object to.
