Many congrats to David for swimming the channel...a fabulous achievement. Please will Matt get back together with Vic and Bob for more Shooting Stars?
Matt:
I'd love to work with Vic and Bob again if the chance came up. They gave me a big start in comedy and I still consider them friends so if there was a chance to do something together, I'd definitely do it.

who inspired you to become comedians?
Matt:
I worked with Vic and Bob early on in my career, on their Big Night Out and Shooting Stars and I used to love them. I think they're the Godfathers of modern comedy today. They mix the traditional elements of comedy with the surreal. You can see Vic and Bob's stuff in the work of comedies like The Mighty Boosh now. Going further back, I think me and David always liked saucy humour. Stuff like Kenneth Williams on Round The Horne.

Will you make another series or is that it now?
Matt:
Well, as I said we are making an American version of Little Britain. That will feature some of the old characters and brand new ones. We write together every day, developing sketches and ideas so I can't believe that this will be the end of those characters, no.

if what is your fave comedy
little britain
catherine tate
none
or something else
Matt:
Myself and David were always inspired by camp, saucy humour. Initially it was Kennth Williams on the radio in Round The Horne but then lots of stuff, Tony Hancock, Spike Milligan. I used to walk around the school playground with a tape recorder and headphones just trying to learn the routines of my favourite comedians word for word.

whats your favorite character and why?
Matt:
Maybe Marjorie because she gets to say the things I daren't even think. I like Andy and Bubbles De Vere although it takes me 6 hours to get into that costume!
