Is there too much violence in soaps?

From Coronation Street to teen drama Hollyoaks, violent storylines have become the norm. Do you think the writers have gone too far and there is now too much violence in soaps? Have your say here...

I think they have too much violence and it's sad because they decide to kill the best people and it's racist!

Why oh why are they bringing Sam Mitchell back in Eastenders I cannot stand her she is obnoxious and so is the character she plays and bringing back Jim in Coronation street are they all hard up for storylines they have to bring old characters back and Liz McDonald I cant understand what is so nice about her she is`nt nice looking in fact the botox makes her look ridiculous shame they do these things there is such a thing as growing old gracefully and not wanting to look like a deflated balloon .when it all sags

We are fans of Corrie and Emmerdale but, the scripts have become such utter rubbish. Both programmes have become so sickening,
we turn them both off within the first few minutes.
Come on mister producer, rub a few of the old crocks out, get shut of the aweful crud.
What unimaginative writers, they drag the weak old storylines on for week after week, so miserably boring. The real format of life has gone out of both programmes, they have become mundain follow the leader,
circling around the same old has-beens', of yesteryear.
Breath in some new life, throw in a good helping of blood and guts, let's have both the village and the street bonking, Meaning? jumping
    for joy.
If both these programmes are ever to survive, they must change the script writers, employ writers with real imagination. Employ people to
format exciting storylines, that will not bore our socks off.
Many performers have been in these two programmes for far too long,
they urgently need new blood, and moreover, persons who can act.
