Is there too much violence in soaps?

From Coronation Street to teen drama Hollyoaks, violent storylines have become the norm. Do you think the writers have gone too far and there is now too much violence in soaps? Have your say here...

i love the violence + sex stories in the soaps. it gives the people character + makes good storylines which makes TV what it is. i may be biased as i love hollyoaks, enders + corrie, but these storylines make me watch it + it would be boring without.

There is so much violence in Corrie and Hollyoaks. But EastEnders there is so much sex involved in it. I mean Max and Stacey's affair that had so much sex in it and kissing. Even younger audiences watch violence and sex. What happened to the good old days, no sex, no violence, no dirty scenes what so ever.
