Bye James; bye Lorraine; bye Debra

Bye James; bye Lorraine; bye Debra

Wow, three firings in one night – Sir Alan must need a finger-rub. But did Big Sugar boot off the right candidates? I think so. Let’s start with Debra. I hereby admit I was wrong about Debra.

Behind the shouty monstrous exterior, she’s clearly a lovely person and that came across tonight. But to quote one of her references: “You either love Debra or you hate her, and lots of people hate her…” (including Sir Alan’s interrogators). It’s a shame – if she’d shown her nice side earlier, she probably would have won.

Lorraine also failed to impress. If you’re daft enough to tell the interviewers that you possess psychic business powers, you can’t really complain when you’re in a taxi instead of the final.

And perhaps if James had used his instincts (or asked a grown-up), he might have foreseen that making rude jokes and boasting about ignorance on your CV probably won’t propel you into the final. He’s been one of the funniest Apprentice candidates ever though, so at least he can return to normal life with some pride.

A mention should also go to Claude – the deadliest of the interrogators. Did anyone else find him hilarious or was it just me? Anyone that good at insults should be on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel.

Right, so we have our finalists. It’s Kate and Yasmina who will battle it out in Sunday night’s series climax. Will they tear each other’s hair out and tell lies to get the job? Hopefully. Let battle commence…

It seems that being arrogant and conceited are desirable attributes these days, though I can't imagine why. Whatever happened to humility ? Obvoiusly if I were an employer, then I wouldn't dream of employing people as obnoxious as most of those that have appeared on the show. I would consider employing Sir Alan's colleagues though, as they show a maturity and wisdom appropriate to their years.

Do you know, ginb, I thought that very thing last year and when the final was played out on TV the candidates switched seats between discussion points and I got it wrong.
I agree, Kate does seem the all-rounder but the fact that Yasmina has come to this after starting her own successful business my give her the edge rather than be a negitive. The guts and determination will be what he is interested in.
