Should EastEnders producers spend £1m on action sequences?

EastEnders will feature the most expensive stunt in soap history when Phil's car crashes into a lake next week. But should producers be spending £1m of licence payers money on action stunts?

They should close these "serial" programmes down as they get tedious and boring and the actors get fat and dull with it because they are not being challenged in the outside world.
    E.G.,
If this programme was about "animals in a zoo" the zoo would be fined for causing mental apathy/ cruelty in animals".

The BBC tells us they are disappointed to have had only a small increase in the licence fee income. Is it any wonder that someone has decided that their uncontrolled spending should be capped, when they spend £1 million on a soap opera that is pure commercial television?
