   Eurovision - it's all a big joke!! It's not about the songs anymore it's about politics, it's ridiculous! What's the point in having the eurovision? England is just making a big disgrace of itself because of the singers like scooch. We might aswell just back out of the competition...

   I'm afraid I can't remember the last good singer or group/band that truly succeeded after ABBA and as far as a British one winning, wasn't it that woman, that like our tennis hopeful some years ago wasn't even British, Canadian or something. I sometimes wonder whether or not it's worth admitting your British any longer, as we don't seem to have any pride in being patriotic any more. The Yanks, Aussies, Kiwis and the other Europeans manage to take pride in their own countries, patriotism is second nature to them, but not the British. I think 1945 was the last time we actually believed in ourselves, since we won WW2 the ukofGB has gone slowly down hill. It's not that we don't have any talent, it's just we're not prepared to invest in ourselves or being British any longer and the young, if it's not from the USA, it ain't cool or hip or what ever any longer. The Scots want to be Scots, the Welsh Welsh and that's great, the Irish aren't even sure and the English other than possibly Football, Rugby & Cricket and that questionable, just don't give to hoots, but one thing they all seem to excel at, is not being British, if we only took pride in being British, for no other reason other than having been a collection of Isles bound together in some way shape or form for nearly a thousand years, that would be something, but there are so many other reasons for us to be proud of being British, if only, so we don't vanish in a puff of smoke one day. We've become too complaisant. If you cease to believe in something it eventually ceases to exist. As individuals we're as good as anybody else on this earth, but as a nation we're a flop and the Eurovision is only the tip. Yes if we're so crap that we have to cheat then maybe we need to bow out.
