New technology will soon make it possible to use your mobile on passenger flights. Will this be convenient or irritating? Do you yearn to make in-flight calls or will you be irked by fellow passengers who cry "Hello? I'm on a plane!"? Share your thoughts and cast a vote.
Lets face it... as technology gets better... the world gets . People become more like selfish robots, all for themselves. This will be another mistake by the mobile companies. Look what happened when camera movies were incorperated into a mobile - filmed violence and happy slap etc. suddenly appeared. SAD WORLD... WHAT A SAD WORLD IT IS TODAY.
Andrea, You say 'the phones are a godsend for letting family and friends know that you are getting closer to the airport'. So you ignore the flight safety rules, and just make a phone call while you're still either airborne or taxying, regardless of the fact that it has been explained to you that this can interfere with on-board equipment. How very responsible of you, and what a perfect example of why mobiles should be banned on flights. People like you just won't stick to the rules. Pathetic.
As long as they put their ring tone onto silent with the vibration on so we don't have to listen to them going off every five minutes..I'm quite happy to invest in earphones for an i-pod or MP4 player..OR I'll just invest in some earplugs so I don't have to listen to the low level chatter if I don't want to. The phones are a godsend for letting family & friends know that you're getting closer to the airport so that they can be waiting for you at the pick-up point. I don't believe in idle chatter on mobiles anyway...Too expensive.
Listen to the crap talk for 3 hourson a flight, ban them totaly, even swithched off, use a payphone the otherside, what did we do before mobiles?
NO No No , its nice just to hear the sound of the engines, not someone talking crap down their phone. Gees just wait to you land and get into the Terminal
