   I was working abroad some years ago and was waiting in the hotel for my cab and spotted a nice looking young lady what i thought getting assulted. I ran over and had a chat with this young man which resulted in him loosing a few teeth, anyway the lady sat down with me and thanked me and we chated when we got to the airport she said your on my flight and they have upgraded you to first class, couldent beleive it. turned out the woman was shania twain, never herd of her before but she paid the extra for my ticket. luvly woman i was well embarrassed when i found out who she was though, felt a right tit

   a friend bought me a laird title for £30, when my wife had it put on my american expres they put Lord instead of Laird, everytime I have flew my wife blagged to checkin that I was a Lord, flashed the card and then asked for an upgrade, this had worked out on several occasions, if I have flown on my own I personally cannot be bothered as to be honest it makes me sick that just because they think I have a title they treated me different, joke is if i was a lord I probably would be more likely to have the cash so its typical that money goes to money. as a side note even in france when we stayed in paris the hotel would not take my money at the end of our stay, one night they booked us a limo, sent us to a resturant who would not take our money either as they were told we were a lord and lady and all we could get is that it was their pleasure to have us, all they asked was we told our friends of the good service etc, I would point out that while I could not get them to accept the money I did tip very heavy to staff to the value of what I should have spent as I felt that its all a shame that people are so superficial. as a second note since splitting with my wife I also changed the card back to Mr as even just paying normally it raises eye brows

   Used to work for major US airline and i agree with all of your tips, except dont ask to be upgraded as normally dont give them to those who ask. Just be smartly dressed and a card holder for that airline. Good Luck !
