I am a massive fan of cottage holidays in the uk, especially ones that have the green tourism award too. Its a good way to get the old carbon footprint down.

Think a good agency is www.holidaycottages.co.uk or www.simplycottages.co.uk, OR find a cottage that is individual and doens't belong to an agency ;-) You can normally haggle the price a bit better then as you are dealing direct with the onwer. IDEAL :-)

If you can stand any sort of weather and high prices in some places you cannot beat good old Britian, unless you like boasting to your neighbours that you are going abroad this year as some of mine do.

Go to the small places not the big well known resorts. Look around but don't let out the names here or you will ruin the place overnight.
