Ryanair considers 'fat tax'

As budget airline Ryanair considers introducing a fat tax we ask: do you think overweight people should pay more to travel?

Get a life Carrie from London! ......... and I bet you're perfect? Personally I hate people who smoke sitting next to me because they stink of fags but I'm not asking for them to pay more for their seat. If seats on planes were made for REAL people and not the airlines idea of 'normal' there wouldn't be a problem. 'Business class' should be the norm! then maybe we would all be happier paying a bit extra. when it comes down to it it's all about money and profits.

If the seats were made for real people in the first place there wouldn't be a problem. How about making 'business class' the norm?!
Like everyone else in this world, they seem to think everyone should conform to what they think is 'normal'. Shame on you all, and well said Hadenough. When it comes down to it ,as always it's about money .

Interestingly enough , Ryanair seem to be jumping on a bandwagon that started in the USA not long ago...
Some airlines over there decided to charge extra for the larger ,overweight , passenger... Interestingly , they also allocated two seats to the people they were suggesting should be charged extra.. and justified it on grounds the passenger was using 2 seats...
I notice R'air have made no similar suggestion. Nor have I ever seen the 2 seat allocation occur on european airlines.
If they want to charge a little extra for getting two seats , I might consider paying it just so I can stretch my legs...
If it really is such a huge issue , why not have aircraft fitted with two sizes of seats.
one kind that is tiny-teensy-teeny-weeny and all nice and skintight snug for the little people , after all they can cram more of the skinnies in a smaller space. So the skinnies make do with four seats where there used to be three... Thats what anyone over five feet two has been tolerating for years ,
Then allow larger seats for the normal sized , taller , and even the overweight... Two seats where there were once three... More comfy , safer , more fair...
problem solved...they can increase charges by cramming 33% more skinnies in the same area , with less baggage allowance , and higher excess charges...A far bigger profit for RyanA.....
    again...
    sorted...
