VIENNA: EXCELLENT - fast-tracked through the express check-in(because they weren't busy), comfortable departure lounge, helpful staff; arrived in STANSTED: TRAUMATIC - sneering staff, no help, announcer speaking only fluent Essex; steel doors like a prison, crammed on the train to... where??? - EU Arrivals Immigration - barking staff there ordering us into line; run like hell to the transfer flight after asking directions (no signs), fast-tracked again (only because delayed) then stopped, and bags swabbed for drugs, because wearing a t-shirt with a white dragon on it. Give it a miss.
dubai airport is very nice then you land at heathrow what a dump.
found terminal 1 at budapest airport small and friendly and always think holland schipol airport amazing and never stuck in a queue!! although you could get lost its so big but immaculate
Heathrow is such a dump, I try to avoid it, flying regionally to, and then on from, Schipol is much better. Heathrow and T5 should be razed to the ground and what's with all these London airports like Stansted, Luton, Gatwick etc? It must be so confusing for foreign arrivals and such a pain to transfer. Changi and Hong Kong are excellent, so is San Francisco International (my favourite)too, but why so little shopping at any US airport?
my best airport is kuala lumper no wait no hastle everyone so helpful and cheery. everything spotlessly clean bright decor with plenty of flowers around.
second best is manila a bit rough at first but when you have been through immigration its a diffrent place, bright, soft seats, nice people, and nice food. third is dubai if you like shopping, but i`m affraid when it comes to the worst good old and new heathrow will never let you down this place is the pits.
my best for the view as you touch down is kota kinabalu (sea & corals)
