Is it ever acceptable to bequest money to a pet? New York billionaire Leona Helmsley has left $12m (£5.97m) to her pet dog, Trouble. Is this a terrible waste of money or is safeguarding the upkeep of a loved pet understandable? Should the courts overturn her will and leave the money to her family instead? Have your say.
12million to a dog for christ sake has the world gone mad.
how can a dog spend 12million what will happen to the money when the dog snuffs it it will go to the goverment thats what all those starving millions in this crazy world & it goes to a bloody dog.
should have gave the dog half a million & the rest should have gone to charity.
I don`t see why money should not be left to a pet if it safeguards it being looked after. No one knows the relationship between this woman & her family. They may have been a set of money grabbers who never bothered with her when she was alive ! Everyone`s circumstance is different.I do think she should have left some to charity though. Let`s face it it won`t cost that much to feed her dog, even if it lives on caviar !!!
How much inheritance tax did it have to pay????
None probably.
Mike from Bristol is the only human being on this planet. God Bless you forever. At least YOU have a brain. The animals are worth more than all those so-called "people" out there that only care about themselves& their sreaming brats. I'd rather get up for my animals than screaming bloody kids any day + you get alot more back too. Don;t give two hoots to any replies I get coz I won't be reading them!!!! See Ya.
actually mike i do alot for charities in my old job. if people have so much money isnt it just selfish too not share. not just poor countries but people in this country. wouldnt it be more helpful to give it the rspca if you love animals that much. ive always given to them.
