Is it ever acceptable to bequest money to a pet? New York billionaire Leona Helmsley has left $12m (£5.97m) to her pet dog, Trouble. Is this a terrible waste of money or is safeguarding the upkeep of a loved pet understandable? Should the courts overturn her will and leave the money to her family instead? Have your say.
Good on her! People for the most part are greedy and conniving, an animal possesses none of these evil qualities. You idiots screaming she must have been mad are forgetting one important factor, she was a billionaire!
She only left a fraction of it to care for her much loved pet who probably gave her a hell of a lot more pleasure and comfort than bloody people did! The rest of it will be fought over by people who would probably kill anyone just to get their hands on some of it! Shame on you lot!
I applaud the person for giving $12000000 to her dog. Why shouldn't she? If you are so concerned with Africa etc etc then GIVE your whole months wages to a certain cause to ease your clearly troubled consciences. If you have no money then give these causes your time? Easy to judge others actions isn't it?
hi renegade from alexandria,
im visiting alexandria soon, hope i see you, my wolfhound would love to p*** up your leg,
what the hell does someone leaving their money to a dog have to do with soldiers getting killed, prosumably you mean in blair and bushes latest release, vietnam 2 the sequal,
personally i think giving a dog millions is weird to say the least, but it was her millions and her dog and that is that, we do with our money as we choose and thats what we earn it for,
with regard to the loss of our troops i would blame this on the arrogant and stupid people that sent them into such hidious war zones.
Put the dog down and give the money to RSPCC, perhap and without guarantee they can do something worthwhile with the money.
Hi maz from sheffield
I hope your dog is in good health and getting plenty of exercise.
I bet you don't leave any of your hard earned cash to a pet.
Although a s a suspected pet lover the idea is not bad to you.
It may interest you to know I have kept pets all my life and the loss when they die has often been quite heart breaking.
However if you are right of mind you don't leave money to a pet.
there are people on the street with nothing and no one to turn to.
Why not send someone out and give 24 people 500K each.
Give them a new life.
I would think a lot better of someone who did that.
Bur a dog a dog I just don't get it.
