Do the Royal Family have a right to privacy?

This weekend The Sunday Times reported details of a blackmail plot against a Royal. The identity of the Royal involved in the alleged sex and drugs blackmail plot remains protected by court order. Do taxpayers have the right to know more or is the scandal a private matter for the Royal Family?

The right to privacy should be earned and not be a birthright.
As one who "contributes" to the civil list I object to having to keep Charles' boys in binge drinking sprees and other yobbish pastimes.

definatly. we should only be told what to print and not put rumor or gossip about them in the gutter press. in holland you are only allowed to say things that have directly come from the palace. they have a queen but you hardly ever hear about them...that is how it should be.

no, they dont unless they become normal mortals .they are royal by accident of birth and in the 21st century royalty should be dispensed with
