What's the best British comedy?

Is Monty Python funnier than Only Fools and Horses? UKTV Gold asked 4,000 people to choose the British TV comedy they considered to be the most influential. Monty Python topped the list followed closely by Only Fools and Horses. Is Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter funnier than the Ministry of Silly Walks or maybe you prefer Blackadder, Little Britain, The Young Ones or something completely different?

It's got to be only Fools and Horses, it is a classic comedy, which gets funnier every time you watch it.

Blackadder and Fawlty Towers are the best, followed by Monty Python. only Fools and Horses is utter crap in my opinion, and I never saw why it ever became popular in the 1st place.

Python was ground-breaking while Fools and Horses was brilliant written but just another ****.
My personal favourites would include Porridge and Red Dwarf. I too can't see why something as puerile as 'The Office' is so highly rated.

They're both classics but Python was innotive & original. Fools and Horses is a family based **** and totaly different from Python "Love them both"
