Do office romances ever last the course?

Do office romances ever last the course?

It's rare to find a place of work where at least a few people don't harbour a secret, or not so secret crush on one of their colleagues. Maybe the sheer amount of time we spend working these days makes the odd office romance inevitable.

But do they ever work out? Is it completely inappropriate to start stepping out with one your colleagues? Have you got a secret crush on a colleague you'd like to share with us? Or do you have a terrible tale of what can go wrong when you find yourself romantically entwined with someone at work? Have your say.

TO HANNAH MCDUFF FOM SCOTLAND YARD. YOU CAN'T LOVE YOUR HUSBAND VERY MUCH, OR LOVE HIM AT ALL, OR HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR HIM TO HAVE HAD CHILDREN BY THIS OTHER MAN AND BY HAVING THIS AFFAIR. YOU SAY YOUR HUSBAND IS AN IDIOT, YOU MORE OF AN IDIOT TO MARRY A MAN YOU DON'T LOVE.

What the hell you only live once and were all red blooded humans. Flirting is fun and so is the chase. If nobody gets hurt and boundaries are worked out then go for it. Can sometimes spice up dull relationships but can also shatter them. Just live for today.

In my experience, office romances have never worked out but I know of a couple or two that I work with who have met in our office and eventually got married so I think sometimes it can work out very well.

Quote: "If it stays a secret, no-one gets hurt, no-one finds out"
I'm in work. Just finished "having fun" with the man in the next office. I have had 9 years with my husband and he has been with his wife for 14 years. We have been "playmates" for nearly 10 years now and our respective spouses are still completely oblivious. I have two children to one of them, and it's not my husband! We're either married to idiots or we're better at this whole secret thing than we thought.
It just goes to show; what you don't know cant hurt you.
