Catherine Tate landed the role of Doctor Who's new companion, reprising her role as Donna from the 2006 Christmas special in the new BBC series. Meanwhile, Freema Agyeman, who played the Doctor's existing companion Martha Jones, only gets to return mid-series. Has Freema been snubbed in favour of Catherine? Who is the better companion for the Doctor?
i like them both, but martha really is the best
I can't decide. I think I'll give Catherine a chance, and decide for myself then. I am looking forward for the Christmas episode. It's a shame that the series is so short, and we have to wait til next year for the next series ;_;
I agree with George - Catherine Tate just plays Catherine Tate - can't we have a decent actress (like the last two) playing the part?
While the final episode of Series Three, screened last Saturday , saw The Doctor's companion Martha leave to care for her devastated family, and to break the cycle of unrequited love she feels for The Doctor, the production team has now confirmed that the character is set to make a triumphant return in the fourth series.
Freema Agyeman is also set to join the cast of Torchwood, where she will continue to play the character in three new episodes before returning to Doctor Who in the middle of the fourth series.
I loved Rose as the doctors assistant. Martha was a good follow on but as for Catherine Tate.... really not sure about her.... i think she is alittle too old to be honest..... i cant see a romance between her and the doctor just a friendship. Also i cant get away from her Lauren character!
I will miss Martha just like i missed Rose
