Newcastle silent on Keegan

Newcastle remained silent in the face of vociferous fans' protests this afternoon as speculation continued that manager Kevin Keegan is leaving the club.

Angry supporters gathered at St James' Park and chants of "sack the board" were repeated as the Toon Army voiced their dissatisfaction at reports Keegan was set to leave or be sacked less than eight months after his high-profile return to Tyneside.

Media were forced by security guards to leave the stadium grounds as the club declined to comment on reports of Keegan's exit, and while fans were also seemingly ushered away, they were soon permitted to reconvene around the main stadium entrance.

Keegan's apparently imminent exit is thought to be down to the club's transfer policy and the level of influence he has been afforded as manager, with Dennis Wise operating as director of football since being brought in by owner Mike Ashley last season.

Newcastle fan's get a life, they are saying the city is depressed ( )
Winging on about K.K. what a joke! more compensation, and as for ashley and Co it is a case of I am the boss and it is my trainset and you are not playing.
For god sake you all need to grow up.
Newcastle fans all they do is harp on about the Fairs cup (history) best forgotten I was at those matches and saw opposing fans being kicked around the streets for nothing (MORonS)
You will never be any good the fans do not have the courage to boycott the games, I watched grown men on the news chanting and near to tears and are you as loyal to your families I doubt it.
Time they flattened St James park and built a Shopping mall or something that would give some pleasure.
But you will go on winging as you always do and continue to pay the high wages of the likes of Wise and croanies and the bunch of muppets you call a team.
Do us all a favour and do not class everyone in Newcastle as a supporter, because we are not and do not wish to be associated with with a bunch of losers. sad ,sad, sad

Yes, they are paid ridiculous sums of money for a game; a form of entertainment more for the player himself than the audience twiddling their fingers and the like. But if the man in charge of the players can't be trusted to pick them then what is he there for? Fottball for me has been dead for twenty years or more. Players don't play they do as they are told! They pass the ball to the player they are told to pass the ball to!
Yet football played by the players with an untrained, free mind, have the wonderful feeling of invention and creativity. Doing as you're told is not an expression of your freedom but a sad reflection of your lack of; worth, excitement and inspiration. Give me school boy football anytime.

In relation to the comment below - the whole of Tyneside cares. The country is in a state because not enough people do care about things that don't affect them directly! Keegan has been disgustingly treated. Ashley must go and what a powerful protest it would be if all season ticket holders went to the Hull game at 2.50 - made their feelings known and left at kick off.Ashley and co have to go.

As a Pompey fan I feel for you Newcastle Supporters, I know how you feel with Keegan, its the same feeling pompey fans have with Redknapp. Lets hope there is a time in the future where Keegan does come back to you! I think he will with the right chairman, but I have a feeling you will never get the right chairman. Sorry newcastle fans, but I hope things do get much better for you!

Kevin should have sacked Barton, Barton is a common thug who should have gone to jail for a lot longer The FA also have to hold their heads in shame allowing him to continue, He should have been baned from any football club and game for the rest of his life.
I hope the two other people that are suing him will win a large amount of compensation from him if only as a warning to the other players that can and in some cases do act like thugs on and off the field. This type of play spoils the good game of football.
May be they are being paid to much money and are pampered so much to care, thinking that kicking a ball up and down a field puts them above the law, which even on a field applies to them also.
