Newcastle silent on Keegan

Newcastle remained silent in the face of vociferous fans' protests this afternoon as speculation continued that manager Kevin Keegan is leaving the club.

Angry supporters gathered at St James' Park and chants of "sack the board" were repeated as the Toon Army voiced their dissatisfaction at reports Keegan was set to leave or be sacked less than eight months after his high-profile return to Tyneside.

Media were forced by security guards to leave the stadium grounds as the club declined to comment on reports of Keegan's exit, and while fans were also seemingly ushered away, they were soon permitted to reconvene around the main stadium entrance.

Keegan's apparently imminent exit is thought to be down to the club's transfer policy and the level of influence he has been afforded as manager, with Dennis Wise operating as director of football since being brought in by owner Mike Ashley last season.

The most honest and a very good manager like Kevin Keegan is hard to find. He is the fnest English Manager that is why everyone just love him. Although I do not support Newcastle but I love Kevin Keegan as a Manager. We are going to miss King Kev in the Premiership I wish him all the best for the future and I would love it if he can come back and manage any club. We will always love King Kevin Keegan.

Mike Ashley is selling newcastle as it appears he fears for the safety of his children if he goes to yhe matches. that pretty much sums up the sort of scum that frequent football matches. ill educated morons with a propensity for alcohol and mindless violence. That said, the fact that he bought such a team of no hopers in one of the most inbred cities in England doesn't exactly speak volumes for his common sense
