  3. Question

    Debbie Banks from Exeter, Devon:

Do the tackles hurt more now then they did 10 years ago?

    Answer

    Mike Catt:

It certainly doesn't get any easier! I wouldn't say the tackles hurt any more but often the body does take a longer time to recover. So far, so good though!

  4. Question

    Emma Thompson from Norwich:

    Oct 15, 19:25

Hi Mike, another great world cup for you- my hero! As a 'mature' player myself, I would like to know how the pro's manage to recover week to week. Several key players in my team (Lakenham Ladies- Div1 North) are over 35 and we always struggle with recovery in the season.

    Answer

    Mike Catt:

We have the advantage of being professional players and having the best physios available to help us to recover after every game. I'm not going to tell you all to jump in ice baths afterwards but simple things are to make sure you warm down after a hard game and if you can have a swim or a massage then that's a bonus.

  5. Question

    dave from grimsby:

    Oct 15, 18:54

after the best two weekends of rugby I've ever seen.blood sweat and dogged determination from England do you think its time someone started to promote Rugby on a more serious level.

    Answer

    Mike Catt:

Winning the World Cup in 2003 generated so much interest in the game in this country so let's hope reaching another final can do the same to promote the grass roots. Obviously, football will always be the number 1 game in this country but rugby union can only benefit from the extra interest.

  6. Question

from the legend that you truely are could you give me any tips on how to become a better inside/outside centre if you have any it would help me inprove my game to the best it could be

    Answer

    Mike Catt:

The best tips I can give you is to practice, practice, practice, enjoy the game, listen to your coach and never be frightened to try things in training and experiment to develop your game. Watching the best players in the world on television is also a great way of learning. Good luck!

  7. Question

    martyn from mansfield:

    Oct 15, 18:04

Hi Mike. Is the pressure in the ball different this world cup and what is the pressure? Thanks Martyn

    Answer

    Mike Catt:

There's been so much talk about the ball in this World Cup and it's fair to say it has been slightly different to the ones we're used to in the 6 Nations. But it's the same for both teams and there's really no excuses there. You'd have to ask the kickers!
