  1. Question

    Tony Keen from Brighton:

    Sep 8, 21:02

These ongoing ludicrous decisions by the FIA are ruining the sport of F1 for everyone. I was so infuriated by what happened on sunday, i couldn't sleep! Even my mum (linda - who you know well from your progression up the ladder) couldn't believe the decison. Were the stewards not watching the same race? How long do we have to put up with farce? what can the real fans do about this? our hands are tied and its so annoying.

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

As I've said in my columns Tony I agree that it's getting ridiculous now and I fear that fans will switch off soon. Teams need to break away and set up their own series.

  2. Question

    Annette from Oxford:

    Sep 8, 15:07

Is it just me, or do the FIA always rule in favour of Ferrari?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I wouldn't say they're in favour of Ferrari but would say they are anti McLaren, for sure.

  3. Question

    Magsathome from Bushey:

    Sep 7, 23:42

    Hi Eddie
    1) Does Ferrari have someone from the FIA in their pocket?
    2) Do you think the FIA just have it in for Ron Dennis?
    3) Or does the FIA's harsh judgement only apply to Lewis, specially when you think what Kimi has done lately (he's whiter than white if you know what I mean).

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I think number 2 applies the best. They have something in for McLaren.

  4. Question

    Dave H from Burnley:

    Sep 7, 21:47

Hi Eddie, is it worth following F1 anymore? I'm in shock that the FIA have done it again. I'm switching off my set to this rubbish in future - will you?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I totally agree it was complete incompetence but there have been too many really bad decisions for this just to be down to incompetence.

  5. Question

    joe from london:

    Sep 7, 19:30

hi eddie if that was you who had just won that race and being demoted two places, what would you have done?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

Well Lewis can't talk because it's kind of like living in an autocratic society. You just can't talk your mind because the FIA have invented the 'bringing the sport into disrepute' clause so the drivers have to be very careful. But that obviously doesn't apply to the head guy so it's hypocricy!

  6. Question

    geoff from essex:

    Sep 7, 17:09

Hi Eddie. When drivers say that the thrill of speed is better than sex is this really true? Guess it depends on the girl!

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I guess it depends on the girl but I have never had more fun in a car than I have had with a woman!

  7. Question

    kardaans from Dublin:

    Sep 3, 20:44

Hi Eddie. i know you've drove in LeMans a couple of times, somewhere i've read if you were in wining team for Mazda or so in '92 or '3, but can't find that info anymore - i think it was last year of Sportscar league. was it so ?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I drove 91, 92 and 93 and I still hold the fastest lap at le Mans although they didn't credit it to me and gave it to my team-mate although he wasn't in the car! I had to drive his stint because he was tired. And I still hold the record 15 or so years on! It was 2minutes 26 seconds in a Toyota. I was leading with an hour to go and then we had a gearbox problem and ended up going back to fourth and I overtook three cars in the last hour. I overtook Boutsen in the Porsche on the last corner of the last lap to get second position so it was an amazing race. It's a very dangerous race because the level of driving is atrocious in some cases. I would love to do it again but it's just not worth the risk. I enjoyed it more than F1.

  8. Question

    Neil from Cambridgeshire:

    Aug 26, 16:16

    Hi Eddie,
I always enjoyed watching you race and your willingness to speak your mind in interviews!
Did you ever feel that Schu could have done more at Suzuka in 1999 to keep Hakkinen off the top step of the podium? With the 4pt lead before the race you would have been the 1st Ferrari World Champion for some time (maybe he couldn't stomach that?).
