Hi Eddie, do you think lewis will be favoured over heiki and that mclaren will all end up like it was a ferrari always letting schuey get max points, and if you do what is your opinion about it. Thx
Eddie Irvine:
No. That's never been the policy with Ron Dennis and it will be the same as it was with Lewis and Fernando and Prost and Senna before that.

Hi Mr Irvine,
Do you also watch other racingseries, next to F1? (WTCC, WRC, DTM)
Eddie Irvine:
No Patrick. I live in America and there’s no culture for it here so for me and my friends to watch say a MotoGP race wouldn’t happen. The other night I was out to dinner with my friends and came back to watch the Grand Prix and then they came back but just had no interest so it’s just not in the culture here.

Hi Eddie, could you please explain how Raikkonen scored a point in the last race when he did not finish. Regards Peter
Eddie Irvine:
He was the eighth classified driver to finish within the allocated 75 per cent of the race distance so he scored the final point.

With Ross Brawn at Honda now, do you see Button and Barrichello improving over the next two seasons?
Also your opinion on the move to make F1 more exciting with the changes to the cars and adding night drives to the circuit calender?
Eddie Irvine:
Ross Brawn is brilliant. What Ross Brawn is great at is not over-reaching. They will plod forward at a pace that is totally sustainable. They are not going to be transformed overnight but they will go forward. But if I was Jenson, I wouldn't be rushing to sign that Honda contract because it's not going to happen overnight. I think the idea of a night race is brilliant and they should have done it years ago. Aside from that, the removal of electronic driver aids is something I really like.

do you think the loss of traction control this season will see real driving skills or make it more dangerous for drivers as the cars are a lot more powerful than in recent years?
Eddie Irvine:
Traction control should have been banned ages ago Andrew. They thought some people, like us at Ferrari, were cheating which we weren’t. In Australia we saw the cars sliding and guys are making mistakes which is much more interesting. The fitter, better drivers are going to reap the rewards because traction control just makes you lazy.

Hi Eddie
I keep seeing on a lot of forums posts about how Lewis Hamilton has a lack of respect for other drivers on the grid and how he's too arrogant and it's all down to "the car" and not his skill. What are your views about Lewis?
Eddie Irvine:
Lewis seems to be the real deal. He seems totally in control of everything he does, doesn't make any mistakes and is a very cool, level-headed person. He is the classiest act on the grid in my opinion.
robwalker from london:

why are there no women in f1 is it racialism or are they just not good enough?
Eddie Irvine:
It's probably two things Rob. They're probably not good enough and the ratio of guys to girls that start racing. If you've got 10,000 guys you maybe have one girl. The chances of that one girl being as good is 10,000-1. And then there's the gender thing and the physicality of the game.

I keep hearing about night racing do you tink this is a good or bad thing?
Eddie Irvine:
I've never understood why they haven't done this before Julie. It should be an exciting spectacle in Singapore and I'm looking forward to it.
