  1. Question

    Trev B from Stockport:

    Hi Eddie,
Martin Brundle said this morning that: 'Ferrari had wiped the floor with everyone this weekend'. I have a lot of respect for MB but I have to disagree with him this time as I reckon without the stumble in the pit-stop Lewis would have caught and passed the Ferraris. What do you think? PS Next time you see Gerhard Berger tell him to slow down, he nearly ran me and my wife over in Monaco last summer. What's more, he was laughing! He was in a BMW Z4 just by the marina.

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I think it's impossible to say where Lewis would have finished and you can't say he would have beaten Kimi but for that problem. he certainly would have been higher than fourth but it's too hard to say. You have to look at the lap times and try and work it out.

  2. Question

    PHIL from PRESTon LANCS:

    Mar 23, 11:57

Hi Eddie,do you think it was just driver error that caused massas spin and that is why he looked a bit embarrassed when asked what happend

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I don't really know but he did make a couple of mistakes in Australia so it's likely driver error. He's under a lot of pressure now after messing up the first two races, that's for sure.

  3. Question

    Marcia from Kent:

    Mar 23, 10:43

Why has Hamilton's car got the number 22 on it when he finished 2nd in the championship. I understand the team had their points taken away but the drivers didn't?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

The car numbers relate to where the manufacturer finished in the championship Marcia, not the drivers. So Ferrari were 1 and 2 and McLaren right at the back.

  4. Question

    david field from london:

    Mar 23, 09:33

are there any drivers from northern ireland making their way up the ranks towards formula 1 that we should be looking out for?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

The guy that drives in A1GP, Adam Carrol. He is a super driver but his timing just wasn’t right. But he is still young and may get to Formula 1 yet.

  5. Question

    Natalie from Yeovil:

    Mar 23, 08:14

If you hadn't had your dream job as F1 race driver, what other job in F1 would you liked to have had?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

    Dealing in cars and property.

  6. Question

    D. Mackay from Cardiff:

    Mar 22, 13:46

What is your opinion about McLaren being penalised for blocking ?. Was it fair or is it still an ongoing persecution by Ferrari or the F.I.A?

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I don’t think it was deliberate but it was a stupid thing to do. If you do impede you know you’re going to get a penalty. Maybe they were watching each other or thinking about saving fuel but their priorities were not in the right order. Your number one priority on a slowing down lap is to keep out of everybody else’s way and they probably had that third on the check list when it should have been first.

  7. Question

    bob stevens from essex:

    Mar 22, 11:38

eddie, what do uoy think is the best track for the spectators to view & why

    Answer

    Eddie Irvine:

I love Monaco. If you have a grandstand seat at Monaco and you have the boats in the background and you also have the big screen so you can follow the race. You can’t beat it. If Monaco is 100%, the next best is probably a 50 or 60. I don’t think anything comes close.

  8. Question

    Mel from Larne:

    Mar 22, 07:39

Hi Eddie, Really want to fulfil my ambition of seeing a race live. Which circuit would you rate as the best for being at the front line of all the action with maximum overtaking opportunites, giving drivers the chance to race instead of parading around after each other?
