A dismal performance against South Africa ended England's Cricket World Cup and it's hard to see where Michael Vaughan's men go from here? Who or what is to blame? And what can be done to help English cricket, particularly the coloured-clothing type, get back on its feet? Tell us what you think.
we lost in da world cup coz loads of our best players didnt do well wiv da bat. flintoff didnt score 20 and vaughn only got 1 half century. the selectors need to stop pickin players just coz they have experiance and go for younger good players like bopara. Graveny must go aswell. if moores cant captain england well give da job 2 botham.we must drop joyce and if neccecery vaughn and give their place to a younger better player to become a good team
England needs "Raw Talent" that does not rely on grass roots text book coaching. What is needed in order to produce any fine team is "Natural Talent". The need to express themselves without any form of text book coaching. Text book coaching withdraws the natural instincts of any gifted playe in the sporting arena of today.
Bang on this time Gouhie. Plenty of spots up for grabs so if you don't perform YOU DON'T PLAY, simple as that. It will be interesting to see what Vaughan does but one way or another we will want another opening batsmen. I cannot see Trescothick wanting to come back to play ALONGSIDE his mental problems and I know who I would rather see out of the two, opening the batting.
dunca fletcher has taken the blame but records show he is the best coach we've had,the fault lies with the players especially vaughan and flintoff who did not produce the goods when it mattered.
If only our cricketers could play with the passion of the sports journalists
