The great tradition of British Sporting Disasters gained another member with England's sorry capitulation to South Africa at the Cricket World Cup. From tennis matches where certain victory became defeat, to limp penalty shoot-out woe - English sports hopefuls (and occasionally the other Brits) can be counted on to bottle it. Tell us your most memorable British sporting disasters.
A lack of spirit, bring in Botham to put some fire into their bellies until our players start to believe in their abilities we will remain second rate.
Don Fox.1968.Wembley.Look it up
if you dont know.Cry with him.
It has been described as a disaster and an absolutely pathetic England perormance. Come on lads....IT WAS FAR WORSE THAN THAT ! Time & time agan they just rolled over an died, they were a disgrace to the country. It's time messrs Botham, Agnew, Hussain & Gower got in on the act and played a part on the selection comittee or similar.
I think england have got a decent cricket team, but like our football team they do not play as a unit it seems to be for there own pride. but chin up folks they will do it one day
There is victory and defeat in sport. England has reached world cup finals before and i'm sure one day they will win it. Look at Sri Lanka who were no where world class cricket and suddenly world champions in 1996. Our team needs our support and we will support it through thick and thin.
