Are ticket prices now beyond a joke?

A report has revealed that the cost of season tickets for next year at Premier League clubs has risen by 8% - that's more than twice the rate of consumer price inflation.

The average cost of a mid-priced season ticket has risen to £590, with some clubs' prices going up by as much as 20 per cent.

Premier League clubs get huge benefits from television revenues, which have increased rapidly in recent years - yet still they continue to impose substantial increases in season ticket costs.

Is the bubble set to burst? Are ordinary folk being priced out of football? Is Premier League football going to be restricted to the 'prawn sandwich' brigade? Share your views here.

If you are going to pay such rediculous salaries to underperforming prima donnas, who do you think is going to pay towards the club's seasonal outgoings? The supporters, of course! Just don't bother for a while. The clubs will soon realise that without you they won't exist.

why can german clubs in top division offer terrace tickets at £7 per game and chelsea offer cheapest ticket at £48 and arsenal even more etc.i'm lucky my club have decent new owners that understand fans by reducing prices from £340 (renewals) -£400 season ticket down to £269 and if we reach 6000 in sales before aug 1st,price goes down to £229 = £9.97 per game.wages are part of issue but greedy foriegn owners are the biggest reason for increase in prices.ticket prices should be capped, especially for away fans.swindon used to get 20k - 32k a game during late 60's + early 1970's, now lucky to get 7,000 a game.protesting by not going wont make a difference to big clubs because they will always have another fan that lives probably 100 odd miles away that is willing to pay a fortune for a day out.why dont fans just support their local clubs if you feel ripped off?
