Are ticket prices now beyond a joke?

A report has revealed that the cost of season tickets for next year at Premier League clubs has risen by 8% - that's more than twice the rate of consumer price inflation.

The average cost of a mid-priced season ticket has risen to £590, with some clubs' prices going up by as much as 20 per cent.

Premier League clubs get huge benefits from television revenues, which have increased rapidly in recent years - yet still they continue to impose substantial increases in season ticket costs.

Is the bubble set to burst? Are ordinary folk being priced out of football? Is Premier League football going to be restricted to the 'prawn sandwich' brigade? Share your views here.

I earn £5.60 an hour . I hope the fat cats of football can justify the cost of tickets compared to the salery earned by people like me. There is no chance of me watching next season.

Dont see why they need to charge the fan such high prices when such as Man U have thier own TV channel they could charge say £5 per game on there they would have a fortune coming in each week
which could keep match tickets at half the present prices and still be milions better off

Yes the prices are too high but still we pay them I have just renewed my villa season ticket £450.00 but it does not stop there £80.00 per season for secure parking and then there is the food, well if you can call it food at villa absolutely disgusting I refuse to pay for it and take my own but grotty chips/curry sauce that looks like something a baby's nappy might contain is not my idea of a pleasant snack do any other fans at other clubs dislike the rubbish that is served up
